1. Who we are and what this policy covers

This Privacy Policy describes how the Educational Engineering Team, trading as Educational Engineering Academy ("EEA", "we", "us", "our"), collects, uses and shares personal information when you visit or make a purchase from our website https://academy.eduengteam.com (the "Site"), including when you complete our Personalized Learning Assessment.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us:

- Account and contact data — your name, email address, and password (stored in hashed form by our platform provider) when you register, sign up, or contact us.

- Purchase data — the products you buy, your order history, and billing status. Payments are processed by our payment processors (see §5); we receive confirmation of payment, the amount, and limited card details such as the card brand and last digits — we do not collect or store your full credit-card number, expiration date or security code on our own systems.

- Assessment data — if you complete the Personalized Learning Assessment, we collect the answers you submit, which include your email address, first and last name, WhatsApp/mobile number, country, timezone, existing knowledge and experience, learning goals and target skills, current level, available study time and deadlines, learning-style preferences, current project details and obstacles you describe, and your communication preferences. We use this data to generate and send you a personalised learning path and related follow-up (see §3).

- Community and content data — posts, comments, messages and other content you submit to community features, and your course progress, quiz results, badges and certificate records.

- Communications — emails or messages you send us, including support requests.

Information collected automatically:

- Device and usage data — IP address, browser type and version, operating system, access times, pages viewed, and referring pages, collected through the platform and standard server logs.

- Cookies and similar technologies — see §6.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

- create and manage your account and give you access to purchased content;

- process transactions, send order confirmations, receipts and invoices, and administer subscriptions, renewals and refunds;

- generate and deliver your personalised learning path from your Assessment answers, apply learning-profile information to your account, and send the related follow-up emails described when you submit the Assessment;

- provide customer support and respond to your requests;

- operate community features, track course progress, and issue certificates and badges;

- send you service messages (for example, renewal notices) and, where you have consented or where permitted by law, newsletters and marketing about our courses and offers — you can opt out of marketing at any time via the unsubscribe link in any marketing email;

- improve the Site and our courses, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

4. Legal bases (where applicable)

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on: performance of our contract with you (account, purchases, course delivery, assessment results); our legitimate interests (operating, securing and improving the Site, and support); your consent (marketing emails, optional cookies, and submitting the Assessment); and legal obligations (accounting and tax records).

5. Who we share information with — our processors and service providers

We share personal information only as needed to operate the Service, with:

- EzyCourse — the platform that hosts the Academy, including our courses, memberships, community, checkout and customer accounts. EzyCourse processes account, purchase, community and course-progress data on our behalf.

- Payment processors — including Stripe and PayPal and other payment providers enabled in the EzyCourse checkout — which process your payment details directly to complete transactions and prevent fraud.

- Email delivery — transactional and learning-path emails are sent using email-delivery services acting on our behalf.

- Analytics and hosting providers — used to operate, secure and understand usage of the Site.

- Authorities or other parties where required by law, to protect our rights or users' safety, or in connection with a business transfer (for example a merger or sale of assets), in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.

We do not sell your personal information. Our service providers may only use your information to provide their services to us.

6. Cookies and tracking technologies

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies (including web beacons) that are necessary for the Site to function (sign-in, checkout, security), and, where enabled, cookies that remember your preferences and help us understand how the Site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling necessary cookies may prevent parts of the Site, including checkout and sign-in, from working.

7. How long we keep your information

- Account and course data: for as long as your account is active, and for up to 24 months after your last activity, after which it is deleted or anonymised — unless you hold a Lifetime purchase, in which case the records needed to honour your access are kept while the Service operates.

- Transaction and billing records: 7 years, to meet accounting and tax obligations.

- Assessment responses: 24 months from submission, or until you ask us to delete them (see §8), whichever is sooner.

- Support correspondence: 24 months after the request is closed.

After these periods, information is deleted or anonymised, except where the law requires longer retention.

8. Your rights

Depending on the law that applies to you, you have the right to:

- access the personal information we hold about you;

- correct inaccurate or incomplete information;

- delete your information (including your Assessment responses);

- object to or restrict certain processing, including marketing;

- portability — receive a copy of the information you provided to us in a commonly used format;

- withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] from the email address associated with your account. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. Deleting your account will end access to purchased subscription content at the end of the current billing period; it does not by itself entitle you to a refund (see our Refund Policy).

9. International transfers

Our platform and service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required by law, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers provided by our processors.

10. Security

We and our platform provider use administrative and technical measures appropriate to the nature of the information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and hashed password storage. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

We do not knowingly solicit information from or market to children under the age of 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete it promptly. Users under 18 should use the Service with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date, and material changes will be notified on the Site or by email.
